About NWBB

New World Bistro Bar is an 80 seat gastro pub in the heart of Albany’s newly revitalized Delaware Avenue Neighborhood.

The building is cozy, the food is fresh and creative, and the staff is friendly and nurturing.  We have designed the next generation of neighborhood cafes, feeling more like Park Slope than midtown Manhattan.  Come as you are.

Original aspects of our 1910 building, such as exposed brick, black pipe and plaster have been incorporated into the Bistro’s design.  The Art Deco mahogany bar is originally from the 1939 World’s Fair. Engaging views through former windows and doorways make an exotic multilevel scene —- Demo Chic!

Ric Orlando is the Managing Consultant/Executive Chef and also owner of New World Home Cooking and New World Catering in Saugerties, NY.  Ric is one of the Hudson Valley’s best known chefs and is always working to improve farm to table associations.

His enthusiasm for local, sustainable ingredients translates to delicious, spirited cuisine with bright and comfortable flavors from around the globe.

New World Bistro Bar is owned by Scott Meyer and Annette Nanes.  They are also co-owners of the Spectrum 8 Theatres two doors down on Delaware Ave, in Albany’s newly energized entertainment and culinary arts district.

Annette and Scott are long time Capital Region residents and support many local Arts endeavors.  After owning the Spectrum Theatres for over 25 years,  they saw a need for a compatible restaurant with a comfortable and casual atmosphere, serving creative cuisine.  Having been long time fans of Woodstock restaurateur, Chef Ric Orlando, they formed a partnership to create NWBB.
